Law Intern found dead in Bengaluru after filing Sexual Harassment complaint against lawyers

A law intern who had recently filed a police complaint against lawyers for sexual harassment has been found dead in her paying guest accommodation at Malleswaram, Bengaluru, reports Times of India.
According to ToI, the intern who hails from Andaman and Nicobar Islands had come to Bengaluru in 2017 and was interning with Jayanth Pattenshetti Associates.
At the firm, she was alloted to work with an advocate named Chandra Naik, who acquainted her with another advocate, Chetan Desai, a pleader at the Karnataka High Court.
The FIR apparently expresses that both Naik and Desai “used to take her to bars and pubs and force her to have liquor. They would then touch her improperly and explicitly pester her.”
She had filed a sexual harassment complaint with the Commercial Street police on November 20.
The report further expresses that the PG proprietor has additionally documented a complaint regarding the death of the victim seeking a probe into the same.
